New Guild Web Framework

Postby Logiibob » Sun Oct 19, 2014 6:31 pm

As you guys can see, the website has got a new face lift.

Me and Speedy have used a revision of the previous theme for almost a decade. Before you is the brand new theme that was built from almost scratch. The need to adjust the way we run our website has adjusted with the times. Here are some new things:

New Sub-forum: Battle Chronicles
I'm using this forum for kills and letting players post about their blogs/streams. In order to post here, you have to be approved by me or Speedy.

Contribute above banner:
Image size: 1150px by 271px
No larger than 100k in size.
Post your idea so we can see it.

My Blog/Stream:
Make a post in in the Battle Chronicles sub-forum (See rule on this above). One post is all you need! From there you can update your post and /bump.

Logi now has /root access to the forums. muahahaha

For you guys that have put your ideas out there I can now say... maybe :comp:

I'm interested in your feed back and making this site look even better!

Logi

If anyone is interested I used http://www.dafont.com/wow-plexus.font for the font it's based of the WoW logo font.

Everything is the opposite way around, it's like driving in the US!!

The left hand mini navigation bar is a nice touch! That said, looks good :D

The links on the menu box don't work except the "home" one, everything else either don't work or goes to the same place

This is coming together nicely. The changes were subtle, yet it looks cleaner and easier on the eyes. Nice work.

I'd prefer the menu navigation to be at the top. In my opinion, we're wasting some real estate keeping it on one side.

As for banners - I'm comfortable with any except for 8, 10, 11, and maybe even 12. The background makes the banner look too busy with all the players that are in it. I'd also suggest changing the font colour of the "Out of Mobs" text away from red. In my opinion, it seems to clash with the colour brown behind it. Maybe yellow or something brighter might work.

I can get behind your opinion if you have something worth while to put in that real estate. Otherwise I see the menu bar as fine myself where it is.

I personally like how the new set up is coming along. I'm excited to see what other new things or looks will come to the surface.

(Not overly digging the white/grey look.)

One other thing. I myself would prefer the users to be located to the left of their post and not to the right of it. Small insignificant thing but annoys the shit outta me.

Personally it looks awkward to me with the empty white space. And the forum posts can simply be expanded width-wise rather than try to force making use of empty space.

Agree with keeping the avatars on the left-hand side.

I agreed with this tell I put the menu on the left side. I'm ready to add another 'menu' under the current menu to fill that space. This can include 'recruitment graphic/menu' or something funny like that.

I hope to have that fixed as well with the above error.

Logi the point of the backgrounds was to have the same foreground with changing background. So pick the best 10 or so and cycle them and see how it looks.
